What Jamluca Files Are
What Jamluca Files Are
Jamluca files let you upload and manage the images used by your stream widgets. Keep tournament participant icons, character art for a segment, or per-show thumbnails in Jamluca, then pull them into a widget to display them on stream.
Uploaded images can be reused across widgets and tables, so you never have to prepare the same picture twice.
Use Uploaded Images in Widgets
Upload images from "Files" in the side menu. Drag and drop is supported, and you can upload several at once. Images are converted to a lightweight format automatically on upload, so dropping in a large picture won't weigh down your stream view.
On the widget side, anywhere you set an image you can either pick one you've already uploaded or upload a new one on the spot. The tournament widget, for example, lets you give each participant an image and show it in their bracket slot.
Organize with Folders
As your library grows, create folders to keep it tidy. Folders can be nested, so you can build a hierarchy that matches how you stream — genres like "Games" and "Just chatting" at the top, shows beneath them, and image sets below that.
Select files with their checkboxes to move them to another folder in bulk. Deleting a folder never deletes the images inside it; they simply return to the unsorted area, so reorganizing is safe.
Storage and Plans
Files are available on the Pro plan and above. How much you can upload depends on your plan, and the Files screen shows your current usage.
Storage is measured by total size rather than by number of files. Every upload is converted to WebP automatically and oversized images are scaled down, so a typical icon or thumbnail lands somewhere between a few tens and a few hundred KB. The original file isn't kept on Jamluca's side, so hold on to your own copy. Deleting images you no longer need frees the space back up.
Note that deleting an image that a live widget is using makes it disappear from the stream (the widget falls back to showing the name only). Check whether an image is in use before removing it.
Combine with Tables
Add an image field to a table and each row can hold several images. For a participant list, you can keep a "Thumbnail," an "Icon," and "Character art" together on one row, then choose which one to use when importing into a widget.
For events with many participants, preparing names and images together in a table and importing them in one go keeps setup short.
Basic File Workflow
- Open "Files" from the side menu.
- Create folders if you need them, then upload your images.
- From a widget's image setting, pick one of your uploaded images.
- To use images in a table, add an image field and set an image on each record.
- Add the widget to OBS and check how it appears on your stream.
